Hearts and Minds

The head that comes to learn is attached to a heart, and cannot function except as the heart influences how much and what kind of work the head can do. Similarly, the head that comes to teach is attached to a heart, and functions only in relationship to that heart, no matter how hard the head tries to deny or bury the emotions (Changing the Way We Teach Math, p.4).

Surprise!

I haven’t written in this blog for a long time, but was inspired to come back–I’ve started a new project (more on that later) and got immersed in current issues in education again. I hope I still have something to say.
